James Edward Matyas, age 86, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Patricia Bitso Matyas, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 12, 2016. James was born in Bridgeport to the late James and Sophie Rozum Matyas and was a graduate of Bassick High School. He took pleasure in gardening, baseball, photography, and travel. In addition to his loving wife, Patricia, James' memory will lovingly be remembered by his four daughters, Leisa Roth, and her husband, Alan, of Fairfield, Susan Doyle, and her husband, William, of Southport, Patrice Leggiadro, and her husband, David, of Fairfield, and Melissa Roberto, and her husband, Jeffery, of Fairfield; eight adored grandchildren, Jackson and Griffin Roth, William and James Doyle, Marissa and Alicia Leggiadro, and Madelyn and Samuel Roberto. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Fairfield. All other services will be held privately.
