Joseph G, Klinko, age 87, devoted husband of Sylvia Garamella Klinko, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2017. Born in Barton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Steven and Mary Hoder Klinko. A proud United States Army veteran of the Korean War, Joe was a retired Public Works employee for the Town of Fairfield. In addition to his beloved wife Sylvia, Joe will be remembered by his children, Sharon Faulkner, and her husband Dan, of Fairfield, Joseph Klinko and his partner Carol, of Fairfield, James Klinko (owner of Furniture on Consignment) and his partner, Layton Thomas, of Weston, Cindy Samatoski and her partner Bill, of Bridgeport, Keith Klinko and his wife Brenda, of Monroe, Patty Demers and her husband Guy, of Litchfield, ME; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his brother, Robert Klinko, of Lakeland, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM in St. Emery Church, Fairfield, with military honor and his interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
